Space Garden Patch Notes 0.1.0


Welcome to the first official update for the game!  Thanks to everyone who played and provided feedback, this patch is meant to primarily address issues discovered by the community, especially as it relates to ease-of-use and discoverability of core gameplay features.  In general I hope the game is now more playable and less frustrating.  Thanks for playing!


Changelog

New Features

- added a Tier 2 upgrade once you have unlocked all of your Tier 1 skills

- Added a second tier of skills!

- Crawlers are available from Tier 2-1 onwards!

UI Changes

- Removed unnecessary descriptions from tooltips

- tooltips disappear when you mouseDown on buttons

- node Info Panel provides dragging instructions while placing

- highlights the relevant Node Info Panel when mousing over a node

- Highlight nodes when hovering over info panel

- Removed 'Fruits' entry from each node

- slightly clarified Research to Skill Point Conversion

- improved visibility of the skill panel instructions

- skill tree now highlights purchaseable skills

- added a 'hide stems' button

- added a 'highlight' pulse to the 'Launch Seedling' button when it first appears

- added a 'highlight' pulse to the 'Launch Seedling' button when it's ready

- Added a "Full Reset" button to the main menu (mostly for me)

Gameplay Changes

- stage size reduced

- rebalanced skill point gain and costs

- increased starting stems by 1

- randomized timing of power transfer to avoid 'loops'

- added weighed priorities for power transfer to avoid 'loops'

- Reduced Seedling max power from 10,000 to 5,000

- Gave an 'animation speed' to nodes growing and shrinking to make it appear less abrupt

Bug Fixes

- selling a seedling now correctly resets the skill tree

- can no longer zoom out indefinitely

Infrastructure Changes

- Upgraded from Pixi 5.x to 6.x

- Started working on the localization system

- Fixed a large amount of warnings in the console related to source maps
